About the founder

Patrick McDonald

Patrick presenting to business owners in the Cayman Islands about Google Business Profile optimization and how local business owners can stay ahead of constant changes.

Patrick is a former U.S. Marine and longtime advertising and marketing executive who has worked on just about everything, from local coffee shops and family-owned businesses to national brands and U.S. presidential campaigns.

Before starting Chicago Style Media, he spent years building and leading some of the strongest television advertising departments across the country for ABC and NBC affiliates, helping businesses of every size reach more customers and grow.

After years of leading teams, working across industries, and learning the advertising business from the inside, Patrick took the leap to pursue a longtime dream of owning his own agency.

He founded Chicago Style Media to bring all of that experience back home and give Chicago-area businesses experienced marketing leadership without the layers, overhead, and runaround of a traditional agency.

Patrick has spoken at marketing events in the U.S. and abroad, helped teach advertising and marketing at The University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) for three years, and studied at Arizona State University with additional study through Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business.

Outside of work, Patrick is married with five kids, coaches baseball and basketball, and is usually either with his family, at Lifetime Fitness, or trying to squeeze in a round of golf.
